My love for art began when I was young because I had a mother and grandmother who were both adept at it and enjoyed doing it. They gained respect for their work and I gained an appreciation for their love of the challenge and rewards of creating. It is my passion and feel fortunate to be able devote my life to it. I earned a Bachelor of Scince Degree in Art Education and have been practicing and learning in a variety of different mediums ever since. From oils to pastels, drawing and watercolor, every painting is a challenge I cherish.
Being raised on a small ranch in Montana by one of the "old cowboys" gave me a love for the history of our country and an appreciation of the outdoors. It is outside that I do the majority of my painting learning nature through observation. Belonging to a plein air and life drawing organizations allows the opprounity to paint with some amazing artists.
